I have travelled extensively across the world, and what I have learned is this: the most extraordinary experiences never come from a website or a catalogue. They come from people. From a hotelier who holds the best table because he knows you are coming. From a guide who takes you somewhere that does not appear on any map. From a local who opens a door that simply does not open for everyone. These connections take years to build. I have spent mine doing exactly that — across the Arctic North, the Mediterranean coast, the hills of Sri Lanka and beyond.
